Okay so over the summer I have not been using makeup and I have been using bioderma products to help my skin, and I have seen a significant (really slow, but significant) amount of change. But now it's time to go back to school and I dont feel comfortable going without some coverage. Before I used rejuva minerals, pressed powder, and I personally think makeup is not that great for acne but I know that I will feel insecure with out it. I honestly don't know if the powder made me break out, cause I think at the time I was going through that one reallllly bad wave of acne, where probably wearing makeup or not wouldn't even make a difference in how bad it was. But anyways, now I have minimum break outs, but a lot of hyperpigmentation left over from the bad flare up. My question is, will wearing powder makeup worsen my hyperpigmentation? It's a type of scarring, but does makeup as light as powder, make the scarring worse? I'm really anxious about this year and I am praying that makeup won't worsen me, especially since I'm on a track to healing right now. Please help!!
I don't see how makeup could ever make scarring worse! The wrong type of makeup may clog your pores and cause more acne, but not have any negative effect on scarring.
I use a small amount of a really light colored concealer stick. Then I go over my whole face with Pur Minerals foundation, and go back over the spots I can still see with concealer a second time. The Pur Minerals foundation gets excellent coverage, is non-comedogenic, and feels super light! I know it's expensive, but well worth the money. Have the person at the makeup counter try it out on you and pick your color. Don't waste your money on any other Pur Minerals products, though. The foundation is all you need.
