I am thinking of hiring a portrait photographer as I usually avoid the camera due to low self-esteem but need to face upto having photos taken to see what they are like. My question is how do you guys hide your skin blemishes in photos?
The photographer would obviously be using a high quality camera, and she has offered to retouch them for extra money, but then I don't want the photos to look unnatural. Would anyone recommend a concealer for pale skin, or anything else that I might be able to use?
I guess I also have the option of getting the photos done in black and white, but I eventually want to have a facebook account so want photos I can use that just look like everyday photos. If anyone has any other tips then let me know as I will be paying to have the photos done so want to make the most of it.
You'll want concealer, a matte, full-coverage foundation, and a powder to set the makeup. You can buy these from the drugstore. None of these should contain SPF because it reflects light and can make you look strange.
If you can afford it, you could hire a makeup artist for the session. Your photographer may have one they can recommend to you.
Good luck!
When I look for a matte different types come up like Matte foundation. Is that what I would need. I don't know what kind of powder I would need either.
Ca these be put on just one area of your face?? Usually it is just my forehead that gets spots, and redness. My concern is if I covered just the forehead it would look different to the rest of my face. I have fair to pale skin.

I would say a Matte foundation would be best for photos. Try a translucent loose powder. As long as you have a shade that matches your skin closely and you blend it, it shouldn't look different.
