It shouldn't be noticeable of you applying it correctly. If you were to use foundation or something heavier like that then yes it would be noticeable. Look up you tube videos on how to apply concealer and you should be good to go. You just need to make sure it matches your skin which is the hard part. I would recommend going to a makeup counter and getting a patch of skin matched.

Lots of guys wear makeup and I don't think it's weird. Just like girls want to cover up imperfections so do guys who cares. I guess I wouldn't go around advertising you are wearing makeup if you feel weird about it, but then again I don't go around advertising it either.

And no your spots will not last longer if you cover them with concealer. You need to be careful to find out that is non comedogenic so shouldnt break you out further, not jut any old concealer will be non comedogenic you will need to do a google search and find the one that looks best for you!

Go right on wearing concealer! i agree get one that matches your skin and when applying start out with very little. i feel like men are fearful of concealer or makeup in general because society writes it out as strictly feminine. Its so dumb honestly... anyways, im not really sure on concealers because i dont use any. well, i used one- it was by covergirl.... and it was like poop, so yeah... dont get that. But i hear very great things about dermablend concealers. - i know they sell at a counter in macy's- its a small section so ask around! dont get one with fragrence or a lot of ingredients and chemicals. I agree with the girls. Wear it and don't think twice. You're the one that looks at your face everyday closely and make up can do wonders for self esteem.

I also ABSOLUTELY agree with Like Moonlight. Concealer is like a miracle when applied carefully and correctly.

I posted on a similar thread from another young man asking the same question and I'll tell you the same thing. My husband has used concealer for years and he's gotten so good at applying it, I never notice it. So proud of him!! He uses Almay and the applicator is a wand. Almay, Neutrogena, physicians formula are all available at drug stores and grocery stores, so if you're a little nervous about buying it yourself, just go to a store that has a self checkout, but honestly, you don't need to feel weird at all. A lot of guys wear make up. They just don't talk about it.

I prefer the solid kind, but you'll find one that works best for you. The other nice thing about those brands I mentioned and the one that Avada mentioned, they usually have ingredients that can actually treat acne and help heal your skin.

I prefer solid concealer that I apply lightly with my 4th finger and I also use this little sponge thing on the end of an eyeliner pencil that really helps me fill in tiny spots. My husband like the more watery concealer because it's easier for him to blend into his skin. There are kinds that look like lipstick and they work awesome as well.

There are lots of tricks to apply it and I'm sure we would all be more than happy to share our methods.

I am a guy and I have never used concealer before so I am new to this.

I am trying to cover up 7-8 red/brown spots on my cheek.

My skin is a bit oily and I have fairly large pores.

So here are my questions regarding concealer.

1. Is it noticeable (even slightly) that I am using concealer even if I get the right shade for my skin tone? I moisturizer and suncream before.

2. Do girls find it weird that guys wear concealer?

3. Will spots last longer if I use concealer?

If your Acne isn't incredibly inflammatory or severe then don't bother with makeup. Society considers it normal for a teenage boy or man to have a bit of acne, it's hardly even an issue. Yes, I'll be honest if I saw a guy in public who was wearing obvious looking foundation I'd be like "huh, what the f*ck"?

I disagree. Do what makes you comfortable. If hiding your acne is what you are after. Do it. Who cares what anyone thinks. It's a normal thing to want to look your best do it!

Okay so I got few samples of make up forever concealers the liquid type. I apply the concealer really lightly and just pat it using my fourth finger.

I checked myself in different lightings and unfortunately it is slightly noticeable that I am wearing concealer in bright lighting.

Does this mean that the color is not right for me? I'm really hoping that it is 100% unnoticeable

Yes, that means the color is not right for you. That happened to me horribly with Clinique concealers. But I have super fair skin with a pinkish tone and cliniques colors seem to be geared more toward olive/brownish tones.

I'm obsessive about all lighting situations. I had the most trouble with making sure it wasn't noticeable in fluorescent lighting. One thing I learned to do when concealing slightly raised (or massively raised) acne, was to apply the thinnest most possibly bit to the entire spot, then I press a piece of kleenex on it to soak up any excess (being very careful not to wipe or rub) and then I only apply concealer to the bottom. Basically, like i'm just filling in the shadow that raised acne can make. I don't say this like it was easy to do, but filling in the shadow is what keeps mine 100% invisible in ALL lighting. If you apply too much to the whole spot, it can really highlight the bump. Makes it look like a beacon!

Keep working with it and if the liquid is too slippery to work with, try a thicker one.

These are weird tips, but I'll pass them along anyway. My friends tell me I'm too obsessive with my concealer, but i have to be since I can't wear powder/foundation and I want all of my old acne marks to be completely invisible.

I use my 4th finger to start out, then depending on the mark, i use this sponge thing on the end of this eyeliner pencil because it comes to a very fine point. (can't find any other make up sponges that are small enough) Perfect for filling in those shadows i was talking about. I also use a toothpick for any tiny needle point areas that are too small for my finger or sponge thing. The kleenex thing helps take that "beacon" away. And lastly- I take my hand mirror and i do a 360 in my bathroom to see if i can see it at all. This is where I check to see if I need to do more shadow filling.

One thing to remember- you're looking very closely in the mirror at your own face. People are never that close (unless they are the "close talker" kind) So be sure to take a step back. If you're getting better at it, chances are, you won't be able to see the mark you're concealing. This will help keep you from being too self conscious about it.

If you're looking for a high coverage, long lasting concealer then try Maybelline Superstay 24hr concealer. It is almost invisible on the skin but covers completely. It lasts very well on oily skin and I have been swimming in the sea with it and it remained after! Also the ingredients are non comedogenic.
