Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone ever tried Clinique's line of makeup before? I want to start wearing powder foundation because my derm told me powder is better than liquid...so, who knows? I never tried powder foundation before, so I'm going to try it out. Which kind did you try and how did it work for you?

Side note: I have veryyyy oily skin. Seriously, you could see the droplets of oil on my nose!!! :( and of course I am acne-prone and I have scarring (both red marks and dented).

:)

I've been using make up on my acne since I was 15. I am now 26 and have tried so many products. I don't know about you but powder makes my acne worse for some reason, although others swear by it. I would suggest doing a patch test first, on a really acne prone area and just see if that tiny area goes nuts or not. I made the mistake of applying powder make up to my whole face and it took weeks/months to recover from it.

I have used Clinique in the past but unfortunately none of the liquid foundations I ordered were white enough for my pale skin so I didn't use them long term :\ sorry I can't help with that particular aspect of your question.

Good luck tho!

I have been using Clinique for almost ten years and I love it whistling.gif) I use Superbalanced liquid foundation since I have combination skin (although mostly dry) and it works great for me. I also think it works great for covering up my hyperpigmentation. I have used the Stay-Matte powder in the past and liked it but didn't notice a big difference between it and some of the drugstore brands so I currently use a CoverGirl mineral powder just to help set the liquid foundation. However, if I had oily skin it might have made more of a difference for me. They have a variety of products, if you go to their makeup counter they'll be happy to do a demo/makeover although sometimes they have to be scheduled in advance. Knock on wood I've never had any issues with their products breaking me out but you might have to try a few different things to find out what you like.

Agree with the previous poster about the colors not being light enough. I still use the superbalanced makeup which is supposed to absorb oil and moisturized where needed cause I have combination skin (oily forehead/chin,dry cheeks) so it does work well but still even with the lightest color it is just a hint too dark, but think it'll be fine with summer coming.

I agree for me powders make everything worse. Out of Clinique's line Ive tried their new cc cream its nice because it has sunscreen and ingredients which gradually fad marks/pigmentation spots. Its not too heavy but if you want a real foundation youd be better off with the above suggestion. I hate the feel of most foundations.

I think you'll be better off with some good quality mineral foundation or BB cream.

Definitely try samples before you buy! I tried some samples of Clinique foundations but found they oxidised really badly on me. I don't know if it was because I am very oily or if it just happens to some people and not others. I also thought they were much more pink-toned than other foundations I have tried. This was actually something I was looking for because I have a cool skin tone and most things are too yellow for me but these samples were too pink even for me. I was only trying out the lightest shades though so the darker ones may well be different. Also I only tried liquid foundation so sorry if this is irrelevant, I thought it might still be of some use... I don't know if you can get samples of the powder foundations, if not I'd definitely recommend getting them to put it on you in store then go away and come back once it's had a chance to change colour if it is going to...

i do love Clinique- i would actually go to one of their booth things in Macys or where ever to speak to them. The only reason i dont use them is they dont have a pale enough foundation color for me- like corpse pale isnt one of their options.
