So after a solid year on Spironolactone my horrible cystic hormonal acne is clear. I do also use a salicylic acid face wash and BP treatment with my moisturizer. Im so happy my skin is clear! It is pretty scarred but not as bad as I thought I would, and the scarring has improved. But what now? Do I need to stay on Spironolactone for the rest of my life to prevent my hormones from going crazy? I seem to tolerate well, just crave salt like a mad person lol. I have a fear that if my derm takes me off of it the acne will return. Ugh. My skin is nice and matte right now.
i always wonder this too. for me i plan to stay on it until after i hit menopause (i am 42 right now)at least. this dec will be 7 years that i have been taking it.

Yes... I dont want to risk going off because it works SO WELL, and Id be devastated if I got another breakout. Id like to stay on it until I hit menopause as well but that wont be for about 20+ years.
