Hello,
Some back story:I'm a female, currently 17 and on my 2nd round of accutane (or roaccutane, at least it's so called in my country). My first time taking accutane was when I was 15-16, took it for 6 months 30mg (I weigh 56kg/130lbs).at the start of this year cystic acne on my cheeksstarted coming back, it was mild, but my dermatologist recommended going for another round (6months again) of accutane. it's my 2nd month right now, again on 30mg. the acne has already almost disappeared, my skin barely even purged.
the thing is, there's this thing going on with my body and I don't know if it could be a side effect from accutane. My muscles been trembling on and off for the past 2-3weeks, my hands shake almost non stop. My family has a history of parkinsons, but I don't think it could be that. I know this sounds dumb, and I haven't told my parents yet about it. Does anyone have an idea of what itcould be? Will it go away? Maybe, has anyone else experienced this?
Hi,
You really should inform your parents and/or doctor about this before it gets worse. I am someone who was left with a multitude of permanent side effects after quitting Accutane years ago and remember this being one that occurred on occasion while still taking the drug that I nearly forgot about. It got severely bad at one point after a morning jog and shortly after I stopped Accutane.
Not saying this is what your problem is for certain, but there is a risk of myopathies (muscle damage) with Accutane:
Severe Acute Myopathy Induced by Isotretinoin
Severe generalised rhabdomyolysis with fatal outcome associated with isotretinoin
Muscle damage induced by isotretinoin.
Your doctor should be able to order a blood test for elevated creatinine-kinase to rule this out or confirm.
In any event, this sounds like something that needs to be addressed.

Do you mind if I ask what your personal theory is behind promoting use of SAMe and B12 when someone mentions having side effects from Accutane?
Out of hundreds of different substances I've tried over many years to reverse or treat post-Accutane side effects, only the combination of methyl-B12 and SAMe had much of an effect, and it put me in a much worse place than my post-Accutane baseline: [removed]
I wouldn't wish what Accutane, or B12 + SAMe did to me upon my worst enemy.
Perhaps my trouble with B12 and SAMe was due to an excessive dosage compared to what you were taking?
