does anyone here know anything about antibiotics for acne?

i'm in my 30s now, I occasionally have spots but generally redness is a problem. (i have quitesensitive skin).

I tried antibiotics for acneon and off in my early 20s. I admit I was quite impatient and never finished a whole course of pills.. eventually giving up with my doctor regarding acne. - i have useddoxycycline.

should i go back to my GP and try again?

should i request a certain type antibiotic?

would 1 or 2 months course of medicine make a permanent difference to my skin?
