I started accutane a year ago (Last December of 2016) and took it for 7 months until this July. It worked very well and when I finished taking the pills in July I was without acne until early December. Now, in the last month I have been experiencing breakouts and my acne, although not as bad as it once was, is still pretty bad. Is this just temporary? Or did Accutane really just not work for me and I will continue to have acne from here on out?
It's possible that acne comes back. Unfortunately, for many, accutane is not resolution... sometimes it comes back weaker, sometimes not, sometimes similar. You might be stuck with acne mate.
I would advise against accutane again if it's not working, and even if it is. There are very big long term risks, and even short term ones, and some very nasty effects don't come until you are long into accutane or even after. Joints, muscles, sexual effects etc.
