Today I took my first Accutane pill (Clarivis, actually), and after reading all the horror stories I'm wondering if some of the symptoms are age related, as in maybe there are more poor interactions when a body isn't fully matured.  I'm hoping to find other people who started accutane later, after 25 or 30, to tell me if you had long term side effects after you finished.  I'm especially worried about fatigue, joint pain, sex drive, and vaginal dryness.

Also, what were the first side effects you noticed?  I've been feeling really tired today and was a bit queasy this morning, plus some mental fatigue and back pain, but all of that could be due to the weather and PMS :P

I'm 43 and have just taken my first dose. Started on 40mg, so can let you know how I am in a week or so. How are you doing Sylvershade?

Hi, im a 33 year old male. Been on Roaccutane (im in the UK) for nearly 4 weeks - 30mg a day

Have pretty dry skin and sometimes dry lips...my main issue is a red face. I've had it since the first few days and it has got slightly better but still very visible, particular if I am hot, embarrassed or exercising

I've sent my derm pictures of my face and he said it looks in-keeping with the side effects of tane. It bothers me quite a lot but just telling myself I need to get through the course of tablets and hopefully will go away within a few weeks.

Joint pain hasn't been too bad, just knees seem quite stiff

Good thing is I have very little active acne at the moment, just the odd smaller spot. Had a bit of breakout in week 2 and 3 but nothing too serious.

How are you guys getting on?

day 10 for me - I have started a blog to keep track.. I'm happy so far. Dryness on face and lips which was expected and nothing I can't deal with. I'm sun sensitive, and have a red face also, again , nothing that really phases me at the moment. fingers crossed!
