Hi everyone!

I started taking erythromycin a few months ago to help with my acne (on my face, back and chest). It helped at first, but slowly the acne started to come back so I went back to my GP and got a prescription of lymecycline. This was about 3 weeks ago and right now I have had a really really terrible breakout not only on my face, but it's also on my back and chest. It's the worst it has been in about 4 years. I'm going to go back to my doctor about this, but my questions are:

  1. Do you think the breakout could've been caused by coming off of erythromycin?
  2. Will doxycycline work if lymecycline hasn't?

Antibiotics are not the answer I'm afraid...eventually acne will become resistant to them all. I went from tetracycline to lymecycline to erythromycin back to lymecycline then decided enough was enough.
