Hi,

Could someone tell me their experience with going privately, in terms of costing etc.

I am am thinking about using my insurance, but they only cover the consultations.

could anyone tell me about the medication and blood testing costs?

Hi, Europegirl

Unfortunately, i've had to go private, because my GP wouldn't let me go on Accutane. (Most prob to save the NHS money) The private dermatologist I go to is in Brentwood called Hartswood Hospital/Clinic. My consultation fee is 170 per session. The medication (Accutane) varies from 140-160 (I'm currently taking 3 pills a day which is 60mg) depending on how long I'm on them for this segment. The blood tests I'd say are hugely expensive. I've paid around 250-300 mark again depending on what they want to test you for. Hope this helps.
