Hi,
I'm just finishing a course of accutane (6 months, mild but very persistent acne, variable dose peaking at 100mg) and my dermatologist has given me differin as a maintenance treatment to try keep things at bay. She said to use it on any spots/signs of spots and on my scars for 6 months, but reading the stuff on here makes me a bit dubious that it's going to help my scars at all and i wonder if it will just bring more side effects. She said i didnt need to go back unless things went wrong
Anyone got any stories about using differin? Does it irritate the skin? Given that I've just had 6 months of accutane at crazy doses (I weigh 60kg...) I reeeeeally don't want random breakouts and flaky skin etc if i can avoid it
Any info would be amazing
thanks so much
Hi,
currently in the same boat as you would love to know how you got on with differin
I will finish my accutane course in a few days and my derm has prescribed me differin to help with the scarring, she told me it may help a bit or it may not at all, so im kind of hesitant to use it as i used it before i went on accutane with horrible results
be great to hear how you got on!
I have been prescribed the same as maintenance and I'm starting today and my derm said that yes it mighhhtt cause some irritation but nothing serious because its not as strong as isotretinoin and things will get better once the side effects from isotretinoin start to go away.
