Okay so basically, I struggled with clogged pores (very bad all over my face) back in 2013, prescribed epiduo, benzoyl peroxide, medication. It gets better then as soon as I stop its back, over the years my acne has progressed. I cant even believe this is my skin. So I had other skin condition problems a few weeks back, put on doxycycline for 3 months (rosacea, perioral dermatitis and severe eczema), my acne has got worse but a tad better which varies each day. I have a dermatologist appointment on the 14th this month and it sounds crazy but im anxious that if my skin gets better then they wont let me go on Accutane, so its really hard because I want it to not get better until then but of course I want it to get better. I know as soon as im off antibiotics my acne will be back to how it is, it ALWAYS goes back to its usual nasty self.. I know Accutane is my answer for the long run. Its SO hard to get a dermatologist appointment and the wait is 3-5 months, I really dont want to be waiting any longer and be fobbed off for the 1000th time. Do you think my acne is bad enough for Accutane? Even if it gets better do you think they will let it be a option for me? Bit of a confusing post I know its just its such a hard time for me and the doctors have not helped so I need the dermatologist to see me at my worst so they may just help me.. it is really ruining my life.
Molly, look at my log. My acne is so much milder than this, pretty non-existent in comparison if I'm honest and I was prescribed roaccutane because my dermatologist worked closely with me over months of trial and error medication, take a look at my log and you will understand my story in more depth.
I'm currently on my 2nd day and feeling hopeful, lips are beginning to dry out but I'm on 35mg for 3-5 months not sure how long yet. I went private in the UK so I had my appointment, blood tests and prescription with-in 3 days, quickest i've ever heard I'm very lucky!!!
