Retin A or Epiduo? Which one is the most effective?

Hi, so I have moderate acne and every time I get a spot on my cheek it leaves a big red mark which never fades. This happens whether I pick my spot or not! It doesn't happen on my forehead or chin which is weird.

I have two medications and can't decide which one to use, Retin A or Epiduo. I've heard a lot of great stuff about Retin A and how it fades hyperpigmentation and smooths the skins texture. I've also heard good stuff about epiduo. Which one do you think would be the best to use for acne and marks?

I would suggest that you try Epiduo to begin with. It has an antibiotic, which fiunctions to kill bacteria thus reducing acne. Benzoyl peroxide (the antibiotic in Epiduo) is also a bleaching agent which will help fade scars. But Epiduo is particualrily for treating acne, it won't reduce scarring as much as Retin-A would because it doesn't contain a retinoid. I've used both, and I honestly didn't prefer either of them. I think you would have luck with Biacna which contains a retinoid and an antibiotic (clindamycin). The topical kills bacteria while also chemically exfoliating to fades scars and reveal fresh skin.
