I've used both orthocyclen and yaz successfully. I'm taking yaz+ spironolactone for a little more than 2 months now.
I haven't heard of marvelon but it says its a mini pill ( less hormones). It doesn't say its used specifically to treat acne but if you're thin or have a small imbalance, it might work for you. Give it 3-4 months.
The active drugs are ethyniloestradiol desoestrel.
Yaz is ethynilestrtodiol( same) and drospirenone.
orthocyclen is ethynilestrodiol ( same) and norgestimate
god the spellings
I'm also on Marvelon. Just finished the first month. Honestly thus far I have seen no results. My doctor however said it can take up to 3 months for some people so I am going to continue for another 2 and if that doesn't help: reevaluation (I have a dermatologist referral for 3 months from now)

question, did your Dr put you on birth control knowing you wanted it to help your acne? Most Drs will give you the pills with the least hormones unless you are trying to treat acne specifically.

I do t know, it may help you but its not used * specifically* to treat acne.
Here's a link that explains which ones are good or bad for acne, depending on your country which is available where, I'd certainly phone the office and ask about it.

I've heard mixed reviews about marvelon maybe ill just have to see for myself
Marvelon was prescribed for me specifically for acne. My doctor said birth control is kind of a mixed bag in that in terms of acne every type works for some people and not for other people.
At the 1 month point I can honestly say I haven't seen a difference with the exception of a cyst going away however I attribute that primarily to time more than BC because I have had the cyst for 2 months now.
Side effects: the first week I had some dizziness. Also I only had my period for 1 day (since I started it on the day I got my period).i then got my period again 3 weeks later after stopping the active pills (annoyingly early but not a huge deal). Lastly I got really bad cramps on my last period that I don't usually have, however it was only one day so I am waiting until my next period to really say if it was from the BC or if it was just a coincidence.
Regardless I am going to continue to take it for another 2 months to see if it helps more since my doc also said 3 months to prime effectiveness

How didn't marvelon work for you ? I've been on it for four months now and If nothing it's made my face worse. Just curious about how your experience was. Thank you

Hey! I'm still on marvelon but I'm also entering my 3rd month of accutane. Skin wise it hadn't made it any worse but not better either. I think the pill can take even longer than 4 months to see if it's effective I'm not sure though
Nothing's changed too much at the moment but I gotta keep on going give the birth control the 6 months and if nothing has changed perhaps try a different one? Have you had your hormones tested? If no maybe you could to see if that's where your problem lies. Keep on going you'll get there
