Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone has experienced a change in the oil production of their skin when starting birth control? I am about to finish my 2nd pack of Ortho Tri Cyclen and since I have started taking it I've noticed my skin seems much more oily, especially in my t-zone. I am pretty sure it's the pill causing it because that's when it started. I just want to know if I can expect it to stabilize once my body fully adjusts to it? Thanks!

Anyone? Can't seem to find info on this anywhere on the internet. It's all just people saying their skin got super oily after stopping the pill, not starting it.

Yes, birth control can change your oil production...but that pill is supposed to do the opposite! I've not heard of oil increase on that med. Yaz and Yasmine are supposed to lower oil production.
Keep on it for at least 6 months, if its not better than try something else. Meanwhile try clay masks, milk of magnesia( topically) and drinking spearmint and green tea.

Thanks for the reply. I was able to find an article that said that it can have the opposite effect in some people until their body adjusts to it. I am going to stick it out.
