Intro- I suffered from moderate, mild acne which I wanted rid of. I was on tane for 6 months which my skin flared up majorly with the worst acne I've ever experienced. Although I was 90% clear at the end of my course.

At the moment my skin is mostly clear apart from at least 3 spots at all times on my face. My face is addicted to moisturiser and lips addicted to Vaseline.
and my post accutane redness is very bad as it looks like accutane to the untrained eye.

a few questions- how can I maintain clear skin and avoid my persistent few spots.
what will happen if I stop using moisturiser and Vaseline

also lot I use emu oil and coconut oil for spot treatment overnight as well as icing any spots I see.

please any help is useful and shall I consider getting a topical treatment as my skin has not Been clear since ending accutnae over two months ago

I haven't started Accutane so I might be completely wrong about this - but isn't redness a common side effect of Accutane and you'll just have to wait for it to fade?

From what I understand, Accutane reduces your oil glands on your face and that is how it works/why it causes dryness. So your skin may stay dry for quite a while - if not for years and years (though oil glands in other parts of your body - like your hair - will return to normal and the lip dryness will go away). Keep moisturizing and just keep listening to your skin.

I don't know about emu oil but I've read that coconut oil clogs pores so I would stop that. Jojoba oil won't clog your pores. I'd talk to your derm about a topical - you don't wnat to irritate your skin more than you have to

I switched to the regimen a few weeks after finishing Accutane. It may seem like overkill, but it stops those few spots from forming and the acne.org products leave my skin pretty much perfect!

Also, don't put anything on your face unless you've checked its comedogenic properties. Coconut oil is a big pore clogger. I stick to regimen products and that is it!

Keep it simple! And do the regimen! Don't worry about it being drying. Work up the BP extremely slowly, moisturize heavily and you'll be fine!

Good luck!

How long have u been off tane?
I was on a 6 mnth course and am now about 11 mnths post tane and I deal with 3-5 small spots a week
My skin is still very sensitive/red and i cant use anything rx or OTC to prevent breakouts because of the sensitivity
Im hoping it improves with time

I finished tane in august 2015 and my skin is pretty much back to before tane. I'm trying to use epiduo but to no luck... ;(

Try clindoxyl instead of epiduo

and try doing a candida cleanse - i know it sounds weird, but 80% of the immune system is in the stomach and tane can mess your system really up.

Ok guys I finished accuatne in March and since then I've had 2/3 spots on my face at a time. I spot treat all of them with ice and emu oil. For the last 4 days I quit moisturiser and Vaseline so my skin could return back to its normal self and it's a bit tight but I belive its for the best.

I have been using coconut oil for my lips as a replacement.

i have been trying to improve my skin through diet as I've been eating a lot of fruit and veg aswell as drinking tons of water. Hopefully this will help. I currently have 3 spots aswell as 2 very small red bumps. I just want clear skin like everyone else I know!! Aswell as my redness which looks like acne. Many thanks guys can anyone help me.
as for the regimen. Is it expensive and does it cause an initial breakout?
