10% BP is pretty harsh. You might do better with a 2.5% BP formula, like they recommend for the Acne.Org Regimen. Just as effective as stronger formulas but way gentler on sensitive skin.

If using a 10% formula, I'd suggest applying only a pea-size amount. Either way, be sure you're moisturizing after each treatment, and OK to moisturize as often as you need to while your skin adjusts! This will help minimize the redness until your skin gets used to the treatment. Even with a 2.5% BP formula, some uncomfortable redness is to be expected. Keeping your skin in balance is important when treating your skin with topicals. Once your skin is used to the treatment, you won't get red and it will start to feel comfortable.

Swelling however could be indicative of an allergy to the treatment. Keep an eye on this and if the swelling persists and the redness just gets worse and worse, I'd stop and call your doctor.

Hope this is helpful! :)
