I have been using differin 0.3 gel about 20 days and my acne has been around the same as when I started until now. My acne is worse than it has ever been. I usually have mild acne with 2-3 big pimples on my face, but how I have like 10 and some of which are big and painful beneath the skin. When I was prescribed this medication the doctor said I should see improvements at about 1 month of treatment which is in just over a week. If that is correct this should be my last big breakout before seeing improvements. But I have read alot of stories saying this could last for 2+ months. If that is the case I can't take it anymore. Can someone tell me how long until it gets better? Im 15 and about 3 months ago I was on a oral antibiotic for acne. Please tell me that this will only last a couple of weeks before getting better
I'd say about 70% of reviews on this website show the IB occuring between the first days of use to week three, and lasting till around week 7. I know this because I was on differin for the last twelve weeks and read almost every single review... Lol.
That's not to say it will last that long.
Unfortunately your derm is veryoptimistic saying about a month, i'm not a doctor but I would take the info the the differin website more seriously, which says 8-12 weeks on average.
My advice would be to ride it out and be gentle with your skin and at 6 weeks (in my opinion) it is still worse, revist with your derm for a different approach.
