How can I moisturizer on acne when everything gives me new pimples

I feel like I have tried every type of oil free, non comedgenic moisturizer available and it seems like they all give me pimples. I am 52 and I have always had mild acne. I have never been able to wear any kind of moisturizer as it seems that as soon as I do, I break out. I only use oil free, non comedgenic types, but I am positive they still break me out. The last few years my acne has gotten worse, and I am now on accutane (after different topical treatments were unsuccessful). I am on day 12 and my skin on my chin is dry, red and flakey from the accutane. I get at least one new pimple a day (small and big whiteheads mostly). I moisturize, but the next day I will get new pimples. Has anyone tried not moisturizing while on accutane? Can I try doing this treatment without moisturizer? I just feel so frustrated and feel like I am sabotaging my treatment my moisturizing and causing new breakouts every day. I never know if I would get the pimples if I didn't moisturize or if I would have got them anyways. I try not moisturizing and it sometimes like I only get 7 new pimples a week. When I moisturize it seems like I get about 10 to 14 new pimples a week. But it is so hard to really know.

Go to the dermatologist, she'll probably know what type of moisturizer you should use since you've tried almost everything.

I went on accutane because I got one to two new pimples every single day. I had been on 4 different prescription topical medications and my doctor said I had mild/moderate acne, but it was persistent and nothing works for it. Accutane is my last thing to try. In have been dairy free for two years and that hasn't worked either.

That's a real bummer, I'm sorry moisturizers haven't worked for you! Personally when I had bad acne I had the same feeling -like literally EVERYTHING would clog my pores and break me out- or so I thought. What worked for me then was a small amount of Argan oil and the OCM. I swear it's the only moisturizer I could use back when my skin was super acne-prone. Notice I say "was" ...my skin isn't as prone to "clogging up" so-to-speak because I dealt with internal issues that were giving me acne-prone skin in the first place. Anyways, that's my best rec, even though it's a simple oil and not a moisturizer by definition.

I didn't really moisturize on Accutane -- just used Aquaphor on my chapped lips. Don't use moisturizers if you're afraid it's going to break you out. Just stay out of strong sun since you won't have sunscreen on and you should be fine!
