One word of caution towards taking minocycline. If you start to find bluish black "bruise" like splotches on your shins that don't go away like a normal bruise does, tell your derm! It's minocycline induced hyperpigmentation and it can take years to get rid of. it happened to me and my derm said that it was because my body didn't need or couldn't absorb the high does of minocycline so it deposited the meds into my skin to form the blue marks. Keep a careful eye!

Attached is a google image of what my legs looked like.

So thankful to you for posting this. My daughter was taking minocycline too and had the same bruising that would not go away along with several autoimmune issues. During this time she had an ankle injury and two related surgeries after which her foot turned blue across the top in much the same bruising manner. It took a year and many visits to several doctors before finally someone figured this out to whom I™m eternally grateful. I even had one orthopedic tell me œSo your daughter has a blue foot, so what?!. Really? So she™s not a Smurf that™s what. Plus we are talking about several other more serious issues as well. I only hope others will find your post because I had no idea it would end up being the minocycline. Know the signs of sensitivity because your dermatologist and general practitioner may not.

How long were you on minocycline and what was the dosage you took?
