For as long as I can remember I've always picked my face, even if nothing is there. I started accutane 3 months ago and every time anything comes up I pick at it, causing more break outs. It has gotten to the point where my skin picking issues is more than just skin picking - it's an anxiety related issue. I'm only 16 but I know I have anxiety (runs in the family) and I believe that's what's causing me to pick. Does anybody have any ideas on how to stop picking? and will accutane not work because I picked my face to death for the first 3 months I'm honestly so sad and angry at myself for ruining my one chance with accutane (I'm only 16 and my parent's insurance runs out in 2 months therefore I can only take accutane while my parents have insurance) and it's making me hate myself for it. Does anyone have any advice or know if the accutane is still effective?

This is the subforum for skin picking. You can find some good info in there.
The accutane should still work. Just do your best to quit picking for the remainder of the coarse. You skin is VERY sensitive and heals much slower. Picking will have a larger impact on you while you are on Accutane. Your scarring caused by skin picking may heal slower aswell. Have you noticed an improvements in areas that you do not pick at?

yes where I don't pick my skin is so nice! it frustrates me to know that it's pretty much me causing my acne at this point.
