I had great results for my mild acne. Since you will probably take a small dosage (10 or 20) the side effects won't bother you too much (probably). I would say the time is the same or slightly shorter, maybe 5 to 6 months. You might suffers bursts in the beginning though. Anyway... Good luck, everything will be fine
I was told that the 10 or 20 I was on years ago was not the proper dose and does not get rid of the problem long term. Shortly after you go off of the accutane, the acne returns if your dose is too low. So I went to a 2nd derm who bumped it way up and said the first derm was wrong to give me that low dose. I am not really sure who is right but if I were you I would read a little more about it from websites that have doctors replying to questions and also consider getting a 2nd opinion in person from another doctor.
I have really mild acne but it flares up at times and gets really bad. I'm taking a blood test on Monday to see if I'm able to take accutane, but I feel like my spots will come back after the tablets because they seem to be hormonal. I have red acne marks all over my skin from my acne last year (it was awful) and I was just wondering if accutanegets rid of those marks? If not, is there anything I can take to get rid of them? I'm currently trying differin which isn't doing anything.
What kind of red marks? You mean like there was a pimple but now there is no pimple and it is a skin discoloration? I think they go away with time but a year is too much time for them to not have gone. I am guessing you need a laser treatments for this. Look up Vbeam Perfecta but best to see a dermatologist and ask what he/she recommends. This article also looks like it could be helpful. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.teenvogue.com/story/how-to-treat-acne-scars-and-dark-marks/amp
Also look at my post called Acne Regimen Explained. I would consider charcoal and a product called Exfol-A from Vivant.
