hey!! so i started accutane almost exactly one month ago, and i would say it has already drastically changed my skin, but i still break out with those awful, painful bumps along my jawline and neck. acne has scarred me both physically and emotionally, i know what its like to not want to go out or do anything because of your acne. i was so drowned in self hatred i didnt go to school for over 2 weeks, and now in the summer i still refuse to see anyone. i am so glad to have been able to go on accutane because i am just so sick and tired of being sick and tired!!!! okay but basically what this thread is about is that my derm (and me) want to clear me up as soon as possible, so yesterday she upped my original dosage of 30 mgs to 50 mgs and also added 65 mgs of solodyn a day. im so glad she upped my accutane dosage, but im really nervous about the solodyn. i used to take solodyn and retin-a together for my acne and they did nothing for me, except for even make it a little worse. im now reading horror stories online about solodyn breaking them out even worse or just simply doing nothing at all, and i just wanted someone's input. do you think i should lay off the solodyn??? ahhh i dont know please help im so worried, school is soon and i dont want to be shut in like this anymore because of a dumb solodyn breakout. thank you!!!

Solodyn is a low-dose minocycline. At regular doses, minocycline should not be taken with accutane as it can cause a very serious interaction (brain swelling!). I am not sure if this is the case at low doses - you should definitely double check with a pharmacist.
