Hi everyone! On March my dermatologist decided to put me on accutane due to a mild-moderate but persistent case of acne. Before starting she prescribed me Diane35, a birth control pill to treat acne. She told me it was necesary to take a bc pill while on accutane and that it would help with my acne too.

I started taking the diane on april and on may i was put on accutane. Right now im almost a month in.

The thing is my doctor wants me to continue taking my bcp after finishing my course of isotretinoin for one or two months because of all the dangers with getting pregnant and all that.

However, I have heard that Diane35 f*cks up with your hormones and after you stop taking the pill, acne comes back and sometimes more severely. Thats why I am afraid that once my acne gets "cured" by accutane, as i will continue with diane for some months, once i stop taking the pill (which i will ASAP because i dont want hormones in my body since it works perfectly fine: i dont suffer crumps or irregularity or anything) everything will come back and accutane will be totally usefull and a waste of time and money.

Do you think this can happen?

I was thinking that maybe if there is a chance of this happening to me, i may ask my dermatologist for a less intense bcp, one with less hormones and more neutral, with not that many anti androgens and estrogen.

What do you think?

My dermatologist told me there will be no problem after stopping accutane but she also says there is no necessary a rellapse after taking diane (which almost everyone says there is) so i dont know what to think

Thanks so much :)

Pd: sorry for my english, im from spain :)

Hello again!I am no doctor so I don't know what I am talking about but I feel like you wouldn't break out after the course was complete.
