So after going to my GP to ask about going on oral contraceptives as I've read they help with skin, I was prescribed tetralysal lymecycline instead. I have mild acne (which I feel could be getting worse) after getting rid of the worst of it with duac a few months ago. I've read up on some reviews and I'm quite worried about starting it as I've read with some it either doesn't help or makes it worse? So I want to know what your recommendations and experiences with lymecycline is, and if you think it would help mild acne or make it worse? I also have majorly oily skin, I'm talking oil slick within hours of washing, so is it supposed to help that also?
And if it helps, I take supplements currently including:
Evening primrose oil
Cod liver oil
Vitamin B complex
Vitamin C
Should definitely help mild acne as it got my severe acne under reasonable control within a couple of months. Do be careful about supplements though as they can interact with it.
ahh okay, i might cut out the supplements and see if that works at all. also did you break out before it got better? or did it just begin to improve like that?
Yeh it should say on the leaflet what supplements you shouldn't take with it, can't remember off the top of my head. No initial breakout for me, it just started improving slowly over a couple of months.
okay thank you!!! and also have you stopped now? if so, did you experience a breakout afterwards or is it still fine?? sorry for the questions!!
Currently still on it but about to stop over the next couple of weeks so I shall let you know!
ah gotcha, good luck man and thank you very much for your help!!!
