When To Increase Spironolactone Dose

Looking for advice:

I've dealt with acne since the 5th grade. I'm now 38. Prior to childbirth the ONLY thing that totally cleared me was yasmin bcp. It was a miracle. Went off and on it between children and it worked everytime until after my last child. I went back on 9 months postpartum and it worked some. My derm and gyno recommended switching to orthocyclen and adding spironolactone. I've been on orthocyclen for 6 months and 50 mg spironolactone (25mg twice daily) for 9 weeks.

I'm not loving the orthocyclen. I feel terribly moody and wishing I hadn't switched from yasmin. Fearful of switching back because of another hormonal adjustment. Spiro seems to help some although I still feel oily during the placebo week and still getting breakouts during week one each month and here & there.

Think I should increase the spiro to 75mg or wait a bit longer? Scared of making things worse.

If it matters, I'm 5'3 and weigh 107.

Hi, I'm new here. I have been on spironolactone for 11 weeks and its been a roller coaster. I was on 25mg now 50mg, and my skin looks like a 14yr old instead 40 . I'm in tears tonight. My Dr called in acticlate 75 mg, but I hate antibiotics. Currently not using retin a because my skin gets soooooo dry. Please help
