This is totally for fun but I had a terrible experience with this month's blood test which was two days ago I think? Anyways!
We, the people (on accutane) are very used to that sharp needle entering our veins to harvest our organs. Well maybe not organs but definitely our blood. You know that dreaded cycle or Russian Roulette wondering if you're going to get somebody who's great at taking blood or down right terrible. I have never had a painful blood test until now.
The freakin' lady looked like a world champion body builder which freaked me out enough. I thought she was going to dig her finger nails Into my veins to extract the blood like a sci-fi flick. So I sat down and was prepared for no pain at all. I knew the routine well and know that needles never really bother or hurt me. As soon as she stuck that thing in my arm I wanted to jump out of my chair. It was the weirdest pain I've ever felt. It was sharp like a normal needle but it was super sore when it was in my arm. When she went to change the vile her finger slipped and she jabbed the effing needle deeper I to my arm almost all the way to the end of the needle! I was pretty mortified. And now I have a huge bruise and a sore arm two days later. I hope I don't get that brute next time. I can't be the only person on here that's had a shitty nurse!
I get a skin prick test, sit there like nothing's happening. The nurse was so amazed cuz she said ahe gets big muscular biker dudes with tattooes all over their body who cry like babies when they get it...
That being said, I always feel pain when I get a shot on my arm where it bends (other side of elbow). It sucks cuz I prefer my right arm, but the nurses always end up stabbing 7 times with the needle, and giving up because they can't get it good in the vein. Then they go to my left arm which hurts like hell, but usually only takes one long painful stab. Imagine someone sticking a small knife in you, and then slowly twirling it around. Yeah. It sucks. Hurts like heck when they pull it out, too. Especially when I piss em off, and then they care less about my pain or discomfort.

Something like this happened to me too! One time, the phlebotemist who took my blood was very obviously new to the job. I have VERY prominent big veins on both arms -it is quite easy for someone with even moderate experience to take my blood without causing a lot of pain. This new phlebotemist, however, not only missed my vein, she stabbed CLEAN THROUGH my vein, causing a huge bubble of a hematoma to pour out under my skin. She persevered and began stabbing the veins on my other arm. She tried, missed, tried again - and it wasn't until I heard a popping sound and a hiss of air COME OUT OF MY FRIGGEN VEIN (or into?) that my fear of an air embolism outweighed my tolerance for her inexperience and I asked for someone else.

holy fuck! I have huge veins too and never had to be stabbed more than once unless it was for Ivs
One time when I was giving blood the volunteer started by telling me it was her first day.
She stabbed my arms so many times I ended up bruised and in tears before someone else did it in my other arm.
Wtf? The irony is I actually want to be a medical lab technician but until I go to college I want to be a phlebotemist and those classes you go through to get certified make you a human pin cushion. I'm terrified of a newbie taking my blood yet I'm going to purposely get newbies taking my blood in class. I hope I don't chicken out!
