Hello fellow acne strugglers,
This is my first post as a new member. I really just want to find a place to track down my daily struggle with acne and how it changes with the new medication I am on. I am currently taking 100mg of Spironolactone. I'm sorry if I start venting as I really have no where else to speak about my problems because no one seems to understand.
Some background: Just like many members here, I have been struggling with acne at a very young age (13). I remembered that I was the first one among our group of friends to start developing acne while others stayed clear. Majority of my breakouts happen along my chin and jawline area, they are 90% cysts and large. I do get them along my cheek and left forehead now as it seems to be getting worst. I'm pretty sure it's hormonal as my breakouts gets real bad before, during and after my period. Or maybe it's just bad all year round. I will be posting my updates here routinely from taking Sprionolactone.
Week 1
Old breakouts seems to be surfacing. I do feel that this is the plurging stage. My blackheads on my nose seems to be 'deeper' now and when I was trying to extract it, a lot comes out compared to usual. My old breakouts seems to be more poppable with the white heads surfacing
Week 2
Horrible horrible new breakouts. I don't know if this is still on the plurging stage. I Currently have 25-30 breakouts on my face concentrating on the lower half of my face with 5 on my left forehead and eyebrow area. My jawline and chin is completely irritated with big cyst acne and it is really hard to find a clear spot here. I know a lot of people say it gets worst before it gets better with this medicine but I had to take off work these 2 days because I couldn't convince myself to leave the house like this. It hurts and inflamed even when left alone. I cried last night and this morning looking into the mirror. This has been the worst breakout I ever experienced.
