I was prescribed 2 tabs of 100 mg minocycline a day, which makes 200 mg daily. I was also prescribed Epiduo to go along with it. I have been using this combo for about 4 weeks now, and my face acne has not improved, but actually got worse. More acne has spread to my cheeks and forehead and it has not been improving. So i was wondering, how long before i start seeing results ?
UPDATE : i have stopped Epiduo because I am pretty sure it is what made my acne worse. It has been a little more than a week and it actually looks a little worse. I have started Tazorac, but have only been taking it every other day so my skin could get used to it. I am going to start everyday now, so Ill update again next week.Again, no Epiduo.
Oops, its been a little over a week lol but i am noticing a small improvement on my skin, some pimples on my cheeks are fading away and my acitve pimples have settled down just a little bit. This has happened in the past and even after improvement, my acne just does not seem to give up and they continue to fight back and keep breaking out. I really hope this is not the case this time.
Hey all, i think i just got through the minocycline breakout or im currently on it, not sure yet, but my skin did get a little bit worse, but it has gotten better now. I am seeing the derm. tomorrow and i am hoping to get a good anitbiotic because it is gonna be my last time going. One problem i am having is the redness on the cheeks. Anyone know how to reduce cheek redness ? The redness is giving off an illusion that makes my acne look 10x worse than it actually is. Any tips would greatly be appreciated
EDIT : forgot to mention that i did infact grow 2 large, hard cysts on my forehead and I think it was due to the minocycline. It is not inflamed or red or anything and I hope it stays that way until healed.
