Hi everybody, ive just signed up to this site and would like to share my story. Ill keep it straight to the point lol.
My acne started about 2 years ago. I have mild to moderate acne now whereas before it was more moderate to severe.
My first treatment started with acnemycin (it was a roll on solution) and that worked for around 4 months and got rid of everything and my face went 100% clear.
Then after 4 months my face became resistant to it and it stopped working and the cystic spots slowly started coming back.
I was then prescribed Duac, and again, it worked for a bit then stopped after 4 months. Annoying!
I went back to the doctor and he then prescribed me Erythromycin. I was on 2 tablets a day. One in the morning then one at night. Didn't work at all! I was on these antibiotics for 4 months.
Sooo i went back to the doctors again and he put me on Tetrasyl Lymecycline. I was instructed to take one a day, every morning. I did just that for 3 months and it wasnt doing anything! If anything, my face was getting worse!
This now brings me to today after seeing another doctor at my surgery, who was also an acne sufferer, amd she actually listened to me and explained that not many GP's understand the effects acne can have on a person. She was very understanding and sympathetic towards me as she knew exactly how bad my acne has been affecting me.
She has prescribed me a gel called Epiduo and put me on another pill called Dianette as well still taking my Lymecycline.
So i take my Lymecycline and Dianette in tuethe morning and apply the Epiduo at night time before bed.
Ive been doing this for a 5 days now and i am seeing some improvement. As we all know, certain medication can take at least 12 weeks to kick in 100%.
I will keep u all updated with my progress. But in the meantime, feel free to ask me any questions!
hey, i am also on dianette and lymecycline. Last year i was only on lymecycline and constant clear skin, i am on my 7th week of dianette.. it made my skin worse than EVER so doctor gave me lymecycline to take with it which i have been taking one for past 3 weeks. I want to come off dianette but have heard it takes 3 months to work apparently so have been advised to wait, my skin is a bit better than when i first started taking dianette but still nothing like it was last year. how is your skin doing now?
