Greetings, all! Before I get into what I need help with, let me tell you about myself. I am a 22 year old male who has struggled with bad acne since I was about 16. I mean BAD acne. I recently finished my 5 month cycle of generic Accutane (Zenatane) and wow! I cannot believe that it worked pretty much exactly as advertised!!! I'll admit, it took me a lot of mental preparation to decide to take it. With all the bad press it has gotten, I was very nervous that I would fall victim to some its more rare, but dangerous side effects.
However, 5 months later my face is pretty much devoid of any acne with no bad experiences whatsoever! I honestly cannot remember the last time I had even a small pimple, whereas before I had them everyday.
Now here is the part where I am in great need of your help. The Accutane virtually obliterated my acne, however I still have "residue" left over. Meaning while my acne is clear, my face can still be a little clearer. My whole philosophy in life is don't just get rid of the bad thing, make it pay!!! So I've gotten rid of the acne, and this can very well be a happy ending, but I want my skin to look as flawless as possible!
That is why my doctor started giving me Tazorac .1% gel samples, which worked like magic. One more month of taking this drug and I KNOW my skin will be flawless! The only problem is I am out of samples and the prescription itself is quite expensive and not covered under my insurance.
Guys, if ANY of you would just so happen to be in the possession of a Tazorac coupon or discount card and would be willing to mail it to me, I would be ETERNALLY GRATEFUL!!! Or, if you know how to go about getting one, I would also appreciate it tremendously!
Reading this post, you may think my acne was never "a big deal" but trust me, this is the finished product attitude that you're reading. My acne was ridiculously bad, but I always made sure to stay on sites like these to share my experiences and see if it would help aid anyone out there. But now I ask for the aid of one of you. I am *this* close to having the skin of my dreams! And all I need is the kindness of a stranger to help me in this final stretch! Thanks so much in advance, and if there is anything I can help you with, such as sharing my journey with you, don't hesitate to ask!
Hello, I just took my 17 yo son to the derm today. He has moderate acne and she prescribed 80mg Solodyn once daily, Clyndamycin pledgets in morning, and Tazorac (pea size mixed with dermasil lotion at night) cream. She also said to buy a bar of PanOxyl 10% BP at Walmart and use a backscrubber (scrubber w/long handle) when showering. Good news is derm gave me a coupon card for pharmacist. So good luck then on ur flawless face!
I was prescribed Tazorac and recently lost my insurance....which sucks because it is working really well for me (paired with minocycline once a day) I'm not willing to pay the retail price so the dermatology office gave me a coupon to use to reduce the price. I am guessing though this is bc I have no insurance at all for prescriptions currently but you could give it a shot
Hi JMiller. The doctor actually prescribed me this and it didn't work for me. I still have 2 more refills left. With my insurance I only have to pay $38. It would be no problem for me to get it for you but you would have to pay the $38 for the cream plus whatever it is to ship it to you. I live in NY so if you're here I have no problem meeting with you and we can go to the pharmacy together. I know it sounds weird but I understand the frustration you have because I have it too. I'm starting acutane next month (June) and hopefully it will work for me.
I do have a question about acutane though. Does it get rid of the acne dark spots (marks)? I have dark marks of my old pimples and I'm wondering if they will go away too. Let me know what you would like to do.
