Hi all.
I am on day 17 of Amnesteen, currently on 20mg/day. After much research I determined I wanted to try the low dose option (in order to avoid some of the worst side effects) but after having seen hardly ANY reduction in oil after 17 days, and after reading much anectodal evidence of the relapse rate being higher on Lower doses, I am thinking I will up my dose to 40 mg at my next appt, in about 13 days. Just wondering if anyone has had similar experience or has any support/advice as my Derm basically said it's my call to make. I have been experiencing a bit of an initial breakout, although my skin isn't too horrible. I'll try to post some pictures without makeup later. I also have been going through the dry lips routine, but that's easily remedied with Dr Dans Cortibalm (also, my lips aren't THAT dry- it's bearable. Just drier than normal). In addition, old red spots/scars have become more prominent, and I'm getting pimples in places I don't typically get them. All this to say that I know the Amnesteen is doing SOMETHING. But it's frustrating to note that my skin still gets to feeling gross and oily within an hour or 2 of washing my face. I think there might be a little improvement in that area, though, fingered crossed.
Update: tonight, I have a bunch of new breakouts, including 4 pimples that were previously healed and have now re-awakened with a vengeance. My skin feels angry
Hi
Im on 60mg now and I was on 20mg first 2 weeks than jumped to 40mg
when i jumped to 40mg i did have a pretty bad IB (maybe it was just timing)
anyway i didnt notice much difference in side effects when i bumped from 20mg to 40mg
kim
Thanks kim,
I am hoping I don't get an IB with the switch, but we'll see.
How are you feeling currently, on 60? I think the main side effect I am worries about is joint pain (although I know there are many worse, but less common, ones). Also, when did you notice your skin staying consistently dry (non-oily)?
Thanks a ton.
Hi
Feeling fine on 60g
some knee pain (big toe pain..LOL..go figure) but nothing earth shattering!
It def wasnt immediate but I havent using blotting papers at all in some time
BUt I would say it took a good few weeks to notice a big reduction in my super oily skin
sorry I couldnt be more helpful
GL
Kim
