Sexually Inactive-Do I Still Need Birth Control For Accutane?

Awkward post warning... I'm looking into going on accutane before a year long exchange next year in Europe. I would be leaving mid august 2015, so would need to be done with accutane late July. However, because of iPledge it takes approximately 2 months before you can go on the medication (due to the pregnancy tests). See, I'm a virgin, and am not looking in becoming sexually active while on Accutane. Is there any way to work around the pregnancy test? I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to complete the cycle if I waited 2months.

I believe you have to be on birth control no matter what

I had a friend in the same situation. She was very religious and dedicated to staying sexually inactive.

They prescribed her the Birth control pills but she didn't take them. She just said she was taking them on paper and to the derm.

They don't test for presence of it or anything.

I just worried that if she DID become active, it could have been disastrous if she became pregnant, but she didn't and it all worked out great.

Do you know if she had to take the pregnancy tests?

Yep she did, as part of the normal bloodwork.

When I took Accutane, I did not have to take birth control. I think you can either pledge to be abstinent or take birth control pills for the ipledge.
