Ahhhh! In a few days It'll mark one month on accutane. I'm starting to breakout a second time after two weeks of clearing skin. This is so frustrating. I have a lot of shit to do today and now I just want to be a hermit. So far it's not as bad as my initial breakout which is okay but I'm a pessimist so yeah :/
Side effects: flakey skin, DRY lips, my lips don't even feel like mine. They're numb! Tightness around mouth. Back pain when I sit down, fatigue, always feeling hot, and eczema on my upper arms. And burning eyes when I wear contacts which is always!
Oh and I too have a spot the size of Russia on my face. It's a huge cyst but it's under the skin so it won't come to a head. It's also not very red so it's not noticeable right now. The breakout I'm having is mainly just small red bumps but in patches.
Also how should I get rid of dead skin? I'm a guy so I'm not too informed on skin care but I hear you can exfoliate?
And Kim I always have to laugh when you shorten cumulative to "cum dose" I'm sorry I'm pretty immature.

right now every 2 hrs I'm using drops..might wantt o give that a try so you dont need anything additional (I have rx ointment I have to put in my eyes at night)

Bahaha! I had to double check to see if I was reading that right lol! We deserve a laugh. Even if it hurts laughing because your lips split apart! I'll definitely give drops a try!

I just did major internet research and found that a lot of people develop these closed comedones during accutane and can't figure out how to get rid of them....FML! I don't see my derm for another two weeks so i get to keep bugging out about it until then...FML FML FML

My face is a far cry from what I was hoping at this point
and my lips are now HORRIBLE...havent been that bad this entire time
Im still using Dr Dan and anything else I can get my hands on all day
Not so much the dryness but the red raw skin
I took 75mg yesterdayI re
really want to get off this shit in 6 mnths
Next week is spring break
Thinking of heading to Boston with the kids for a few days
Maybe it will be good to get out and be busy!

The flakeyness is REAL!!!! it's so hot and dry in colorado today and my face surely feels it. Tomorrow is back to snow. Make up your mind COLORADO!!!!
Anybody ever look in their house mirror and think their acne looks way better, but then look in your car mirror and throw up a little in your mouth? Ugh. I hate the sunlight. Yellow light makes acne look better always.
Anyways, still going through this second breakout. No whiteheads though just red bumps. Ugh and one I had from my initial breakout is still here and painful! I also still have the stAte of Alaska on my fuckin face!

I have never been flaky on tane...dry/tight but not flaky or peeling (except my peeling lips)
I sleep with a humidifier on my night stand to combat the forced heat...might be worth a try
Also a good hydrating mask might help..LMK if u want/need any suggestion
plain old honey is supposed to be great but havent had the nerve to try it

Im Having another bad day
I know I sound like a complaining sorry sap but continuing to post as others have messaged me that they have been reading the thread (and to know they arent alone)
I have a few red spots that are new..shocker
Skin is red/drt/tight and bumpy
ODD because my forehead is smooth and the lower part of my face has been smooth for months
My problem area is still the bridge of my nose and now spreading to my cheeks which has been clear the entire time
at least 3 new small red blip son the apple of my cheek..fabulous!
I feel exhausted all the time....a little in a haze...trouble sleeping
I am a big fat wuss to the extreme
My tane journey feels like its running out of steam
4/17 will be 5 mnths!
God I wish more than ever i had a time machine!!!

Kim...I'm right there with you...big old fart on my forehead is starting to go down and scab (still not encouraging knowing that a similiar spot hat was right above it five months ago is still red as hell) And outside of that i got these nasty closed comedones on the side of my face...soooo yea.Again, these meds helped but I only have half a month left on them and nowhere even close to where i wanted to be.

I should welcome. The dryness because my nose area used to be so oily but I wouldn't say my skin was all oily. Maybe combination skin. I just use cerave. When I wake up and after I shower my face is SO FLAKEY!!! like literally looks like somebody splashed acid on my face. Nothing helps. Cetaphil leaves me looking oily and cerave isn't powerful enough.
On a bright note my second breakout is clearing up I think!!! My accutane induced eczema is going away too (thanks aveno!)
The 8th of this month marks one month on accutane!! I can't wait to see the derm!

people, I am finishing my third month and I also thought that the red bumps were acne. They sure looked like it. Well, I started moisturizing like crazy every morning and night even though my skin didn't feel especially dry and they are gone, almost completely. Minus two very small bumps my cheek that a few days ago was COVERED in red bumps is pretty much clear.
Now I do have a pimple on my forehead, a cystic one on my hairline and BAD red spots. But the bumps are gone. Moisturize and don't be afraid of heavy products.

Hi everyone! I hope you had a nice Easter weekend!
As for me, I have only 5 days left to my initial 5 month plan... I don't know yet if my Dr approved for an extra month I'll call on Wednesday to find out.
My lips started to peel... They hadn't really until a couple of days ago. My skin is also desert dry. Still getting some pimples... *sigh *sigh *sigh! Will there ever be an end?? Ok I don't want to be negative. This morning I told myself that I will be ''allowed'' to complain just when I'll be done for 2-3 months since it can still improve. So I try to stay hopeful.

I'm getting more and more closed comedones/clogged pores on my face...some on my cheeks some near my eye..Not sure what's going on but I don't like it at all. I have one more week on tane and see my derm a week from today...Really feeling down about my tane experience...the five months went quick but my face is still gross and I'm getting these clogged pores...sigh,,,at least I know I tried everything...I'll let you know what the derm says in a week guys.

I have to be honest that im questioning my tane decision
not because of side effects but because of the state of my skin
txture on my cheeks and under eyes is awful and im still getting daily small red spots and this week 2-3 breakouts on my right side which has been clear since december
Im just feeling defeated and hopeless
the lethargy and stupid lips I feel would be sp much easier to accept if I was reeking the benefits of clear skin
oh did I mention the demonic dark circles?
I'm looking forward to knowing what your derm said Derp! Jeez I know right!? what the hell are the chances the three people who decide to blog it on this blog get screwed!!!?? Although I remember @ the begining there was a consistent poster names ham something or another who hasn't spoken up in ages so I'm assuming she made it to the other side...
