Not Enough To Get Me To Next Appointment?

As I imagine most are, I have a very busy dermatologist. So far in my course, I've been pretty lucky with getting appointments every 30 days to avoid any lapse in getting my 30 day script.

Next month, I'm not able to get in and see my derm until 22 days after I run out of pills. I'm pretty anxious about what's going to happen, does anyone have any experience?

I'm on 80mg a day, 40 morning, 40 night. Severe acne, 90 days in and I'm almost completely clear. 20 y/o male, 155 lbs. I'll have been on amnesteem for 120 days by the time I run out.

Thanks a lot!

This is what i do if im in a situation similar to yours. People or at least one person is bound it prob cancel. Call every week or so intill your appointment. or tell them if one frees up to give you a call (tell them your situation)

1. Some derms will call in scripts if they cannot see you.

2. As above, keep calling to ask for cancellations.

3. I have never gone 22 days, but I was off by 6 once due to a missed appt. I saw it coming, so I took my meds alternating days the week or so before. This keeps you from going so long with nothing, but might not be an option for you when missing so much.

Accutane stays in your system for a while, and it is unlikely that you will have any relapse within a month at this point anyway. Don't stress it too much.

Thanks for the responses... My understanding is also that it stays in your system for a while, 22 days just seems like so long! I'll continue to followup with my derm and hope for the best.

One other thought I had, was to drop my dosage to 40mg, as I take 2 40's a day. This would then let me get to my next derm appt with the same "cumulative dosage" between now and then, without missing almost a month of pills? Any thoughts?

THANKS!
