Derm put me on Sodium Sulfacetamide 10% and Sulfur 5% Wash and Differin. It's day 11 and my face is a mess.
I'm 99% sure this isn't an initial breakout but rather an allergic reaction.
Did anyone else experience anything like this? If so, how did you treat it. I'm afraid to put anything on my face at this point.
If I call the term, she'll just prescribe more stuff to treat the rash that will probably cause more havoc.
Any help or ideas would be so appreciated. I'm pretty upset.
I tried sodium sulfacetimide as well, and it made me have this scaly brown rough textured area where I used it, I was not impressed at all either. If you're having an allergic reaction and you KNOW what its from then discontinue that product and just stick to your normal regimen (assuming you use a face wash, ect) till it goes away.
I just had an allergic reaction to sunscreen which was all over my face, and I discontinued it and continued to just use my daily gentle cleanser till it went away. Most allergic reactions on your skin are "allergic contact dermatitis" which takes about 5-7 days to completely go away.. so give it time. You usually dont need anything else from the Dr. to help it clear up. If it gets too bad though contact your Dr!
Hope this helps (:
