Hello,
I've begun my second course of Zenatane (Accutane), and I'm just beginning to start my second month. So far, I'm getting some mild dryness in my nose and on my legs, but nothing bad. During my first course, side effects were pretty minimal.
Anyway, I've been wanting to get a tattoo since before I started my second course. It's never come up in any of my doctor visits prior, so I figured it was no big deal. When I got looking at the pamphlet in the pill box though, I saw the note about 'cosmetic procedures' (yeah, I know tattoos are a cosmetic procedure).
Anyway, a little internet searching showed a ton of people out there shouting the gospel, NO TATTOOS!
A little more research, showed a fairly substantial amount of people saying they didn't have any issues getting theirs, and their derm said it was A-Okay.
So I talked to my derm today, and she was very adamant about not getting one, claiming that I'd regret it, and it would scar horribly.
Not that I necessarily disbelieve my derm, but does anyone have any pictures to back these claims up? Either one (that it's fine to do or that it'll F up your ink?).
Amongst all the past threads I've read, I've yet to see a picture of a bad tattoo from Accutane use, and only a couple of pictures of good ones (that were done towards the end of their course).
Anyways, I'm just looking for some really solid proof that Accutane will screw up your new tattoo, because so far, all I've read is from people who have not had one or know someone who did.
Thanks for your time.
Please do not get a tattoo on accutane!
Even getting a wax on accutane can cause a lot of problems such as the top layer of skin coming straight off.
I would really advise not to. Obviously its your choice but honestly couldnt you just wait? I think you'd be asking for trouble if you get it done.
