It sounds like the inflammatory portion of your acne has already cleared up, if that's what you mean by "mostly redness and scars". In terms of redness and scars, the redness (probably Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation) can take a very long time to clear completely - 6 months to a year at minimum. Scars are another beast - if you have true scarring (see the scar gallary for an idea of what kind of scars you have), you will need to wait 6 months after your course of accutane is complete before treating them. Unfortunately, scars are permanent, although the appearance of minor scars can improve with time.
