Hi all
Started aczone today and little fearful after a bad exp with acanya.
My skin loves BP so I have been using bp am and retin-a and hydro 4% pm
My derm HATES that I use BP all over my face and though it has helped I am still breaking out occasionally
I am on oral antibiotics so she wants to stop them and find something that works
Before considering spiro or low dose bcp (im going to be 41..fun fun..eye roll)
She wants to try aczone am and retin-a pm
Im afraid giving up BP all together will cause more breakouts
She said I could spot treat with bp but ive read/heard BP and aczone can cause facial discoloration
Was thinking
am
aczone
pm
aczone
retin-a and hydro 4% (heard ok to use aczone followed by retin-a)
wait 2 min spot treat bp
or
am
BP
pm
aczone and retin-a and hydro 4%
any thoughts??
Thanks much, Kim

Im 38 and have used aczone. Do not spot treat BP after using aczone. I think you'd be much better off w/ BP in the morning and Aczone in the evening (will save your bedsheets from bleaching).
Aczone is great for inflammatory acne. Ive used for a couple years. It is much more effective at knocking out current acne than preventing new ones from forming, in my opinion. I currently only use as a spot treatment now, after several months of using aczone alone all over the face. If you have inflammatory acne, and you get that feeling that something is brewing in a spot, I just plop on a dab of aczone, dont even rub it in, and leave it on overnight. Takes the hurt out in a day or two, or completely eliminates it. I use the dab of aczone after using differin. So i suppose you could use BP in morning, retin a in evening, and spot treat w. aczone in evening,
Good luck
