I'm on day 60 of accutane and the inside of my nose is getting REALLY dry. The walls stick together if I don't flare my nostrils every so often. But that doesn't bother me too much.. what bothers me is I'm getting these crusty, sharp boogers that stick onto the walls of my nose every few hours
it honestly amazes me how fast these boogers build up. I have to dig in deep with my fingers to actually remove these boogers, since they're pretty much glued to the walls of my nose. It hurts to take them out sometimes especially on the inner walls of my nose, and they come out a little bloody. After forcefully removing every booger inside my nose, a few hours later they build up again. Wtf? thus the painful process repeats
Can't use tweezers either, cause of my nose hairs. Before Accutane I just had to pick my nose once a day to remove all the debris.. Now i'm constantly picking my nose (groce). Hope my nose doesn't get bigger cause of this.
is this something I'll just have to live through for the next 4-6 months or is there some secret remedy I haven't come across? will vaseline/aquaphor inside the nose help in anyway?
I use aquaphor around my nostrils and it helps. The worst part for me is that it gets all globbed up with my makeup (right at the edges of my nostrils). Lol. Accutane is so weird.
I think you can improve the situation with vaseline or aquaphor, but it probably won't totally go away until the end of your course. I'd rather deal with a few hard boogers than a face full of acne, though, so I don't really mind.
Best of luck.
