I was just prescribed Accutane today and was wondering if the cleanser and moisturizer I am using are okay to use while on Accutane.

If not any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks

I really hate neutrogena... but thats just my opinion.

And really you just need a basic cleanser (nothing special) Cerave or cetaphil really.

The drug is reallly realllyyyy harsh- doing more will alter the process. Your skill will be sore and dry throughout.

Both me and my bro did this- when you use a moisturizer, only spot apply it to the really dry areas.

Just be simple, and go with the flow and you will have great results.

Also Drink water!!!!! And dont lick your lips because they will be very dry and also have chapstick with you at al times!

I have just started my second month and the dryness has been minimal so far but I've been diligent with my routine.

In the am I wash my face with warm water and use cetaphil face wash. I use a baby wash cloth with warm water and gently swipe some of the mildly dry spots. I then follow by splashing my face with cold water and pat dry. I follow with Thayers witch hazel with lavander & aloe vera on a cotton pad and wipe my face all over. It's a natural alcohol free toner, it moisturizes, soothes and heals. You can look at it below, and I've been able to pick it up at any health food place. I've tried tons of products over the years and dislike most, I will never stop using this.

I then follow with cetaphil face moisturizer SPF15.

I repeat the same routine in the evening and usually wash my face 2x to get all the makeup off. I also find the witch hazel toner with a pad great for helping remove the make up because it's so gentle.

Just a side note about make up- on a search to find something natural that would benefit and protect my skin I was directed by professionals to try Jane Iredale mineral powder and BB cream, both contain SPF 25 and I will never use another make up again! I haven't tried the jane iredale primer yet but that will be my next purchase.

Hope this helps! :o)
