hi so i am a sixteen year old with your normal teenage acne. pretty much moderate over my enitre face with the occasional cysts. it also appears on my back and chest. extrememly oily face. i was just wondering how worth it accutance is. i really want clear skin more than anything but i do not want to look like shit for five months if that is the case? i really dont know much about accutane. how long does it take to work and will it really just destroy my skin before it gets better after half a year. thanks
Most people who take accutane really love it.
There can be an initial breakout, but that usually lasts less than 2 months. Usually even after 1 month, people look better already than they did before starting.
Are you in a dry climate? If so, you're more likely to have redness and flaking, but that can be counteracted by starting at a small dose and by moisturizing a lot.
