Ive experienced the same you have during my time w/ aczone. There should be no initial breakout w/ aczone, however, in my case, it appeared that was I getting my usual stuff, but aczone helped to heal it faster. It was far better at clearing existing acne than preventing new ones from forming. So whats the point of that? I just use it as a spot treatment now. For me, it can stop a large pustule/cyst from fully forming in 2 days.

I think the tazorac gel is significantly stronger than the equivalent tazorac cream. If you weren't having too much irritation from the gel, maybe it's a good idea to switch back to that...
