Hi guys, I am on the 26th day of my roaccutane journey 40mg/day and approximately 2 days ago, I started noticing tiny body color bumps. They are barely noticeable but they are itching and some of them even becoming red. Mainly they are located around eyes area and under my nose. My face was really dry and red from the previous week, and I just started using ance.org moisturizer, but its seems like this moisturizer is too irritating for my skin, so I ordered Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion. I just curious if it is because of dryness or it is more serious side effect. Btw, I cannot make an appointment with my derm for the following 3 weeks, so I have to find cause of this problem on my own. Any ideas what it can be?
Actually, I had something similar last week ( I am on my 22nd day of accutane). I put Avene Cicalfate on it (a healing oitment my derm recommended) and left it alone (i.e., barely touched it, even when washing, avoided make-up, etc.) and it seemed to go away on it's own. I have a picture on my log of my forehead where you can barely see the bumps if you want to take a look.
I've had accutane-induced eczema (also known as dermatitis or atopic dermatitis) on the tops of my hands and on my chest since my second month on accutane (absorica). They look like tiny skin colored and red bumps and rarely get itchy. Eczema is triggered by dry skin. The best thing over the counter product I have used to help keep it under control is Aveeno Eczema Therapy cream followed by Aquaphor applied often.
