I hope I'm not beating a dead horse here, but I couldn't seem to find anywhere that posted about positive effects of roaccutane, just the nasty side effects it brings!
I have had it wholeheartedly recommended to me by a close mate of mine who is a pharmacist and has been on and off the drug for years with no serious side effects. (He's about 27)
I've been on it for about 4 months now, and the only issues are the dry skin and lips, and occasional muscle/joint pain, however I lift weights 6 days a week, so I don't think this is out of the ordinary.
Is it possible that all the forum 'press' on accutane is due to the fact that people that don't have any effects don't bother writing up?
I was told that the severe negative side effects make up a very low percentage of cases for accutane... I'd love to know if anyone out there has had a generally positive experience with it.
Hit me up
There is always bias in reporting of side effects. As you say, people who have something to complain about are more likely to do so, whereas those that have nothing to complain about tend to keep quiet and move on.
My experience is that (a) side effects have been mild (dry lips and eyes, a bit more skin peeling in summer than usual), (b) acne massively better.
The latter being the important bit, right?
Steve.
I agree with ya Adriaaan. I'm currently on Accutane - finishing up 4th month soon and my skin looks better than it has in years. Other than dry skin and hair, I haven't experienced any negative side effects. From reading other's negative stories on here, I can only hope that my acne stays essentially gone after stopping the Accutane course.
Good day!
I agree with both of you, sun burn quick, dry lips and skin. All manageable!
I like dry hair, my hair used to be very oily, now I don't need to wash every day. The acne is clear, I've been getting heaps of comments on my skin lately, love it.
Just hope, as you said that it stays away and I don't get the nasty long term side effects that the poor people get
4 months competed:
very painful 3 month but in 4th month i fell in love with accutane and now i am thinking about marrying it. A lot of posts made me depressed and then i figured that people those who have positive experiences never came back to help and comment about their experiences on accutane.
