I'm a vegetarian and I will not take fish oil but my hips literally feel like they have spiked baseball bats lodged in them 24/7 and I'm desperate. *Sidenote: reducing my dosage is also not an option at this point in time.*

flax and borage oils contain omega-3's which are good for joint pain and inflammation. they are vegetarian sourced. you could also try "zyflamend" which is to help with inflammation.

Hemp based protein also contains omega-3's.

Fish oil didn't help my accutane-induced joint pain too much, even when I took higher than normal amounts. I've just started taking a glucosamine supplement and that is starting to help a little bit.
