Hey all for when I possibly start Accutane what is the best generic Accutane that worked for you? I am worried about their effectiveness since it is not the original Roche Accutane. It is the same ingredients correct? But might depend on where the generic is made also. Also after seeing all these initial breakouts on here I'm sooo scared. 
What should I expect around 10-20 mg? I am following some people on their low dose regimen. Arg what acne makes us do!

The following is from an article on 10-20mg dosing. They seem to think it reduces the side effects, including the initial breakout. I would pm you the entire thing, but you can't PM someone a document (it's a 6 page PDF). You can also take an oral antibiotic concurrently for the first 2 months to minimise chance of initial breakout - ask your derm, express your concerns. If you are interested in the whole article, I could email you the article (PM me if you want).
Also on generic, I don't think it will matter, it's the same active ingredients.

30 years of usage tell us?
Important changes in the use of isotretinoin include using a lower daily dose for the appropriate length of time. This usually means 1020 mg/day for 312 months, depending on the severity of the acne and other patients characteris- tics. These lower doses avoid most of the adverse effects of standard dose isotretinoin, including isotretinoin-induced are of acne and excessive scarring and lower potential risks of developing psychiatric or gastrointestinal adverse effects. Teratogenicity however, remains a very signicant concern, whatever the dose.

Ok thanks. I saw some doc online say Amnesteem is the best or something that's why I ask. I am going to go out of state to visit my parents and I am avoiding my current derm and just gonna ask for Accutane. The psychology hell acne has put me through is too much. Yes, people with moderate acne can suffer just as much as those with severe acne...and yes, I do believe we should be prescribed Accutane if NOTHING has worked.
