Very White Skin Under Eyes

Hi guys,

I'm on approximately week 6 of 60mg accutane. The good news is that it literally cleared my entire body and face of acne in about 2-3 weeks. I've read about red faces on accutane, and my face has always been slightly red (probably due to acne inflammation)-and I think I definitely have some of the accutane face reddening. My bigger concern though is that the area under my eyes is a much much different tone- perfectly white. With the combination of the red skin it tends to stick out a bit. Has anyone else experienced this? I haven't been drinking enough water, that's something I've been working on over the past few days. Today my eyes have been very dry, I wonder if there is some sort of connection between dehydration and the eye dryness/white skin? It looks funky, and literally the only thing wrong with my skin as of now.

Thanks for reading!

Accutane can thin the skin and cause hypopigmentation anywhere! As for the eyes make sure you try some good eye drops. It is known that Accutane can effect the meibomian glands of the eyes, cause blepharitis and other eye conditions. In fact people who want to become pilots can't if they have taken Accutane. Water is essential in hydration with or without Accutane.

Good Luck

I'd honestly be okay if my whole face was red, instead it looks like I went skiing with sunglasses on.

hey ryntlbt, I am literally in the same boat as you. I've been on accutane for 5 months and my face is really red in the cheek area and really white surrounding my eyes. My aunt asked me if I've been going snowboarding cause it looks like I was wearing goggles. Honestly, there's not much I've found to help the situation. I just wear glasses and it kinda helps a little bit since they are a little thick. The only thing to do is to wait to get off accutane i suppose. Good luck

Yea I hope this overall redness does down after the accutane is out of my system. Let me know if you start to see improvement after you're done. How long is your course?
