Hi!
I have been using Differin .3 gel since June or July, and I quite like it so far. It helps pimples decrease a lot faster than they otherwise would. However, ever since I started using it, I have been battling consistent irritation if I use too much of it. My skin gets red and flaky unless I spot-treat my pimples with it.
More alarmingly, my eyelids get dry and my ears (the inside and outside) get very itchy. My derm knows this and continues to prescribe it to me along with some cortisone cream. I thought it would go away but it hasn't. Last night my ears itched so bad, that the inside of my ear was nearly raw. When I put the cream on it burned like hell fire.
Next appointment with the derm is March... should I tell him to switch my cream even though it is decently effective for treating acne?
do you get acne there that you are putting the differin on your ears? and not sure why this would affect your eyelids unless you are applying there as well.
Sounds like maybe some sort of contact dermatitis or eczema? Make sure you wash your hands after use before touching around the eye area.
Other than that, not sure
